Skillaroos Medallists Announced – Direct from Calgary
Results are in from the WorldSkills International Competition in Calgary, Canada!
The Australian Tile Council and WorldSkills Australia are proud and privileged to announce that Skillaroo, Wall and Floor Tiling Represenative, Peter Steinweiss has achieved great success in winning the first medal for Wall and Floor Tiling since Australia first commenced competing in the official Catergory, in the Netherlands 1991.
Peter won the Bronze medal, a fantastic effort, with 16 Nations competing for the major medals in the Wall and Floor Tiling Catergory.

ISO Technical Committee 189, Ceramic Tiles, will meet in Sydney on 24-25 August 2009, 21 years after it last met in Australia. ISO/TC 189 produces the ISO standards for ceramic tiles, grouts and adhesives, where these have been adopted as Australian Standards. This meeting will continue the development of standards for waterproofing membranes that are intended as integral parts of tiling systems, as well as considering revisions that will flow on to improved versions of AS 4459, AS 4662 and AS 4992. This is an opportunity for our industry experts to interact with the leading international experts, enabling improved selection and specification of the most relevant tiling products, thanks to ATC National Member Mapei provision of funds for hosting of the meeting.
