Australian Tile Council National Conference - May 2008
National President Robert Walker and his new Executive team.
The 2008 National Conference was hosted by the Queensland Division in Brisbane.
The Conference, which was described as an outstanding success by incoming National President Robert Walker, ran from Monday 26th May until Tuesday 27th May 2008.
The venue was the Brisbane Marriott Hotel, 515 Queen St, Brisbane.
The Official Cocktail Party was a huge success along with the Conference Dinner which was held at Brett's Wharf.
The conference covered many topics relevant to the industry including porcelain haze, Australian Standards, implementation of a National Retail Training Program and more.
Presentations wher made by Shelley Casey from DesignEx/Form & Function, Richard Bowman from Full Frontal Tile & Stone Expo, Bill Hare from Designbuild and Gary Manuel from Virgin Blue Airways.
A fantastic prize from Virgin Blue Airways was won by Barry Bulmer from NSW.

Australian Tile Council at Full Frontal Tile & Stone Expo - May 2008
The Australian Tile Council represented industry at the recent Full Frontal Tile & Stone Expo. Members of the ATC NSW Division graciously devoted their time to set-up and man the stand. The stand was very popular with members of the industry with many questions on membership, industry updates, seminars and training.
The Australian Tile Council congratulate the organisers of Full Frontal Tile & Stone Expo on a very well organised event.

Full Frontal Tile & Stone Expo (FFTSE) - Report
The first dedicated tile & stone expo was held at the Sydney Showgrounds from April 17-19. Over 90 exhibitors with tiles, stone, decorative materials, adhesives, sealers, slip treatments etc where part of the 3 day expo. Major players inlcuding Ardex, Asa Bostic, Aqua Mix, BAT Trims, Decoramics, Iris, Marble Plus, Ocean + Merchant, ParexDavco, RAK Ceramics, Trend Tile and others displayed the latest for the tile & stone industries. The seminar programme which ran for 3 days was also very well attended with numbers between 60 - 100 per session. Industry looks forward to FFTSE 2009.
